toad battery dead

My toad is always dead and wont start on a jumper box. I had AAA come and he simply disconnected one of the cables to reset the computer. It then jumped perfectly. What did he do? I have a 2019 chev equinox

At first I installed a fused line from the MH to the toad. After doing so, I was concerned that if there was a problem with the MH charge system it would drain the toad battery and I would be stuck on the side of the road with 2 dead vehicles. Purchased a "Toad Battery Charger" from RVI and have not had any problems keeping the toad battery fully charged.

I'll second the RVI charge controller. It monitors voltage on both the motorhome and the toad and only charges when needed.

And likely a relay control, so disconnects when RV IGN=Off.

Actually, on our Power Glide chassis the 12v charge line turns off when the ignition is off. So yes, it's relay controlled but not in the RVI module.

I have a 2022 Chevy Equinox RS AWD. I added the Roadmaster charge line that charges the Equinox battery while I am towing it behind the motorhome. When you are towing your Equinox, the turn signals, brake lights and taillights are powered by the battery in your Equinox and that is why you need a charge line to charge your battery while it is being towed.

Your RV is where the lights get power, not from your Equinox.
