Toad Battery Drain 16 Lincoln MKZ

Ok I have seen that there have been issues with battery drain on different cars with solutions of, disengagement switch for battery, hot/charge line from the coach, etc. I have not found a definitive answer on what I need to do for the 2016 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. If anyone has found the solution for this particular car I would be most appreciative. It is my understanding that this car actually charges through the negative battery post??? I thought perhaps I would be lucky and it would just be a weak battery, original to the car. Had it in to the dealership today and indicate that the battery is fine and I fact had more volts than required, also verified it was original battery. Any assistance in what solutions were found for the Lincoln drain much appreciated in advance.

We had the same car behind our rig for 5 years with no battery drain. Did you wire the lights through diodes or put separate lights on it? Also - make sure you turn the ignition off after putting it in tow mode. If you just park the car by itself for a day or so does the battery go dead?

Car lights wired through diodes. Yep on checking to make sure ignition is off after engaging tow mode. Works fine after sitting for a day or two. Had local dealership check it and put a load on the battery and all checked out good.

Charges through the negative battery terminal? That would be a first. I'd use a meter and measure between the negative battery terminal and the chassis of the car. If there is continuity then there's nothing special about the battery set up. If you want to be sure that there's no battery drain then why not put in a battery disconnect and a charge wire from your coach? It's inexpensive and relatively easy to do. You'll never have an unexpected dead battery - unless you 6-year old battery bits the dust!
