Toad blowing Brake Fuse

The brake fuse on our 2009 Honda CRV has started blowing while being towed. Does fine after replacement when not being towed. Now, the towing light wiring is a completely separate harness with bulbs inserted in the light compartment so I don't see how that could be related and there are no issues with coach lights anyway.

So this may be more of a vehicle issue but here I am. And Google doesn't turn up much except consistent non-towing issues.

I'm thinking its somehow related to the brake circuit activation by the Aux Brake (air powered roadmaster)??? Under towing conditions - in neutral, ignition on??? Anyone seen this or have ideas for troubleshooting?

First I assume you mean the brake light fuse for the regular toad brake lights. Sense you had lights inserted into the brake light housing, I would look there first.
With the system you have, you have two sets of brake lights. One set of lights come on with the coach brake lights (inserted bulbs), the second set (original toad lights) come on when the Aux Brake pushes on the toad brake pedal.
I have always pulled my toad brake light fuse (#16 under hood of 2012 CR V) when I tow. It helps conserve battery power and toad light operation matches coach lights.
Have you checked the operation of toad lights to see that they are correct?

I'd also check if the diodes were added to the lights. I assume you are using the toad's lights and not 'additional' lamps.

I don't know if it's possible, but maybe your braking system is slightly on, turning the brake lights on all the time and eventually blowing the fuse. Since the car is lightweight, I would tow it once without the brake system installed and see if you have the issue. That would at east identify where to start.
