Actually....Ford F150’s weigh between 4,000 to 5,200lbs

Too much to NOT have a braking system and can easily be over the rating for a gas motorhome.

Yep, towed a full size blazer for years. No aux brake. I would have loved one in those days but I don't think I was aware of them.

I would not tow without one now. They really shorten the stopping distance and increase the safety factor.

I agree; we Do Not need the auxiliary brakes most of the time, but get that ONE TIME emergency it will be well worth the cost.
Along that line,any one using the AirForceOne sysyem? We had one installed a few weeks ago, and now, 1200 miles from home and our Chev Colorado keeps telling me "Service Brake Booster". Sound familiar to anyone? If so, what/how did it get resolved?

We tow a 2007 Jeep Liberty behind our '05 Beaver, with AF1 toad braking. Flawless. No complaints.

Bottom line - add supplemental brakes. Most states require brakes and a breakaway systems. Here is a website giving you info you need: Towing Laws | BrakeBuddy - Braking systems for motorhomes towing a vehicle. If your F-150 weighs more than 3000 pounds, in Indiana, you need brakes. Look at the map - move the cursor over states you plan to travel through, or visit and you'll see what is required by law.
