Which toad braking system is the best overall? Ease of install/ price/easy-to-use? Thank you

There is no one best overall. Everyone has their own opinions and they're all valid. We use the ReadyBrute Elite on our toad. It has some cost advantages: it's less expensive than some of the others, includes a braking system and an emergency break away and is easy to install. I did mine myself and most people do. Takes a few hours and hand tools, depending on what you're towing. We've had it with two coaches now and haven't had a lick of trouble with it.

I already have the blue ox tow bar setup. Is the ready brute elite only compatible with their tow bar?

You can buy one of their tow bars that has the ReadyBrake built in, or you can buy just the ReadyBrake and use it with any tow bar.

Sell the Blue Ox and get the Ready Brute Elite 2.

A Ready Brake will work with your Blue Ox towbar no problem. They are a little over $400.

I used a Ready Brake with a Blue Ox towbar for a few years. It worked well but I didnt like how much “hitch” there was between the coach and front of the toad. I sold all that stuff and bought a RBE and love it.

You cant go wrong with the NSA products.

M&G is hard to beat for ease of use and effectiveness. Its also cost friendly considering the quality. They don't have a national dealer network, but do have a few installers around the country.

If you live in or near Texas, it's worth the trip to Athens to have Monty do the install.

Regardless, give Monty at M&G Engineering a call to see if you can work something out.

As you can see, it's a highly opinionated topic. There's not much buyer remorse with the systems.

There's even a Youtube how to setup video of a popular tow bar with the built in brake system where the author honestly admits burning up his toads brakes because of incorrect hookup. And he still loves it.
