Toad died!
We have been towing a 99 Malibu for 8 yrs but sadly had to put it to rest, we prefer a small car, are there any models that stand above the rest as far as easy to hook up and pull? We have a Blue Ox bar

Look for something g with a manual trans. Most But not all require nothing more than put it in nutrual and release the parking brake to be in tow mode. I have a 2018 Elantra Sport that I love as a toad. Lots of folks pull mini coopers.

I'm on a quest for a replacement for my 07 Accord. It's an automatic. But now none are 4 down towable. At least without a luber.
No stick shift in this auto world or 4 wheel drive (poor mpg) for me. Even read EVs aren't towable. Jeeps no thanks (many reasons)
Good luck! I'm stuck with my reliable low miles Honda.

Baer, if you are looking for used, a Honda-CRV is an excellent tow vehicle. It comes in front wheel drive or all wheel drive. 2014 is the last year towable.
We had two Honda CR-V's, a 2007 and a 2013. They weighed about 3,400 lbs. each as we had the all wheel drive models with navigation. I would have bought another if they were towable.
Sadly, the choices are getting narrower and narrower.
Safe travels,
Mark

We Tow a 2013 Honda Fit , auto transmission
Car is light , ton of storage , fun to drive , easy to hook up , gets great gas mileage , we Tow behind a 2016. Newmar Canyon Star , gas coach ....and if it wasn't for rear view camera would not know it there ......FYI 2013 year was last year to flat tow a Honda Fit, should be easy to find a good used Fit with low mileage

If you liked the Malibu so much, why not get another one? A smaller car will be a adjustment you may not like.
