I ended up with a Saturn. The fans are legion, there are older Saturns on the used market at very reasonable prices, and the curb weight is only 2,200 lbs for a 4 door sedan (SL1 model).

I found two with only ~60,000 miles before buying the one I ended up with (the color is a close match to my RV). And at only $2100.

Here's an extensive blog post I wrote about what goes into a towed after purchase: Towing a Saturn

There are links to several publications, and various items needed for towing, along with mentions of cost.

To those looking for a tow there is a 06 Saturn Vue posted on Craig's List St. Louis set up for towing, however it may not have the base plate style you may want. Looks like it stays on the toad. Good luck. I live about 40mi. from the seller.

We have a Wrangler on order.

Why? Length, convertible, can use off road, good 3rd car for us, and resale value. It's drawbacks were lack of some things we are used to in our cars but most of those don't come on something that can be towed 4 down.
