Toad Installation Help

I'm interested in installing a Ready Brute Elite towbar/braking system on my RV/Toad and am having trouble finding someone that will do the install. I don't mind paying a premium purchasing the parts through a dealer or other handyman shop but so far no one I've reached out to deals with this towbar/braking system.

I can certainly buy the parts myself but then I need someone to install them.

Can anyone here recommend someone in the New Jersey area that would be able to take this on?

I found a large truck accessories shop that did my complete installation. They installed the baseplate, light wiring, ReadyBrake, and breakaway system for about $650. That was a few years ago so I'm sure it would be higher now.

Ok, what toad did you want to install the brake system on? Have you contacted Night Shift Auto to see who the distributors of the ReadyBrake are in your area? Typically the distributors are also installers of their product. If you are not interested in installing yourself take a look at the installation instructions anyway. https://www.readybrake.com/uploads/3...structions.pdf You will see how simple it is. Maybe ask a mom & pop auto repair facility if they are interested?

That's an option I hadn't considered. Thanks for the feedback! Really appreciated.

I have a 2014 MINI Cooper Countryman FWD 6-Speed Manual. I am definitely going to check out Night Shift Auto. I hadn't heard of them. Thanks for the guidance.

I just realized what nsa tow bars stood for I have already reached out to them. Unfortunately they don't have any partners in the Northeast. If anyone knows this to be false, please let me know.

Are you looking to install just the braking system or the base plate, lightening diodes and braking system? I just installed the Ready Brute Elite II Tow bar and braking system on my 2017 F-150. While it took longer than I anticipated, it was fairly simple. Note: I already had a Blue Ox base plate and lighting diodes on the F-150. The tow bar is really straight forward. Installing the tow bar is a matter of slipping it into the 2” x 2” receiver hitch. Installing the braking system and break away cable is a matter of drilling a few holes and routing the cable. There are lots of videos on the NSA web site. Don’t under rate your mechanical ability. Mine is a 4 or 5 on a 10 scale. Good luck.

I need to install the base plate, the lighting and the braking. I have nothing yet except the base plate that I bought thinking I might try it myself. I am going to look but after speaking with NSA a few months back, they said that MINI's are difficult to hook up the braking on since the pedals are so small. That made me think I might be in over my head and spending a few bucks to get it installed professionally eliminated the risk of me screwing it up.
