Toad Lights Not working

The lights on my TOAD aren't working.
They worked previously for years.
I've tested the 7-blade, all good.
The lights work when not plugged into the RV.
I've plugged it into 2 different coaches with no luck.

Suspect the cord or wiring on the TOAD. Any thoughts on how to check? Or, other possible causes?

Thanks in advance!

If you have an ohm meter and you know the connections on each end of the tow cable, measure the resistance of each wire. Should be 0 or very, very low resistance. If you get an open wire (infinite resistance) that is your culprit.

I'm assuming when you say lights, that it is all of them that are not working (running, turn and stop?

I would first start with the ground connection on the connector on the toad. I think you don't have a path from ground for the lights on the toad to the MH ground.

I agree. I don't have a lot of experience with dinghy towing but years of towing bass boats and farm trailers lead me to think it's probably a ground problem of some sort.

Thank you!!
I don't have an ohm meter.
I bought a new cord just to see if that was it, no luck.
Art, correct, nothing is working. I took apart the connector on the TOAD, all the connections appear tight. Following the wore back (from under the front) nothing seemed out of place.
Is there someplace else I should check for the ground? And, by ground I'm assuming you're referring to the white wire.
Really appreciate the help!

Had the same issue. Turned out to be the receptacle on the toad. You can buy one at most auto stores for under $10. If it’s not the receptacle itself, as others have suggested ground to that receptacle. That’s where I would start.

Thanks everyone! I found the cause yesterday.
After checking cord, plug & ground @ the plug I started tracing the wire back. I'd had some engine work done a few months ago. While tracing the wire back I found a nicely hidden, very clean cut, across ALL the wires for the lights. Reconnecting those got most of the lights working.
Continuing back I found two of the connecters on the back passenger light diode had come lose. That was thanks to an anxious golden retriever pawing at the back corner of the Jeep. Once those were connected we were up and running.
The only thing left is: that back passenger turn signal won't work when the marker lights are on. Suspect I reversed the 2 connections on the diode.
My wife would describe it as a "hot mess". I kind of enjoyed tinkering .
Really appreciate all the help!
