Toad tail light systems

I have a 2025 Sierra SLT 4x4 to tow behind a Phaethon 40qth (2013)
Im just setting it up to tow. I purchased the RM tow wiring kit with the diodes to splice into the truck wiring. Would this a correct option ?
E Trailer only showed a couple.

Thanks

It's either that or a separate set of magnetic lights that you put on the back of your toad. On my first toad that I could flat-tow I used the diodes. On this toad (which requires a dolly) I use the separate lights.

What you've bought is what I've used on three toads now. Works well for me.

You can add new sockets and bulbs to some tail lights.

I did this but used the toad brake lights since I use a Brakemaster that pushes the brake pedal down.

I'm using a home-built version of the CoolTech LLC wiring harness: a 4 pole double throw switch installed on the dash of our Jeeps that sends power to the tail lights from either the Jeep's wiring harness or the RV's wiring harness. It requires finding the correct wires in the Jeep's harness and cutting them but works great. If you have OEM LED tail lights you'll need another line to switch off the signal going to the Jeep's BCM but if you have non-LED lights then you only need to switch 4 lines.

Something I learned from forum member "First Light". Curt makes a plug and play wire harnesses specifically for some toads. It appears Curt# 58984 might be for your truck.

I used the Curt plug and play harness for my Jeep. Works great and i didn't have to cut any wiring.

STOP.....don't use the kit. I just set up my 2024 GMC Sierra Denali in November. Curt makes a plug and play wiring setup. You just disconnect the two connectors at the rear of the truck, plug theirs in and the OEM back into those. It has one ground wire you screw to the frame then route the grn/whi/yel/brn wires to the front of the truck. Use split wrap and secure with zip ties.

Here's the link...
