Toad wiring

Ok, so hereís a question. We put on our toad, Ď03 Jeep Liberty, a plug-n-play wiring adapter to connect the coaches lights to the toad (ie, brakes, signals etc). The toad has a trailer hitch but no trailer wiring connections. We want to install a trailer wiring harness so...will a plug-n-play trailer wiring harness be compatible with the previously installed wiring harness from the coach? Lots of multiple plug ins. (FYI- the trailer wiring will be used only when disconnected from the coach when at home).
Make sense?

No, what are you calling "plug-n-play"?

The wiring harness/connection to power the toad's rear lights is normally completely separate from the Toad's trailer connector.

Are you trying tp back-feed the Toad's trailer connector to pwer the Toad's lights?

Ok, plug-n-play is a no splicing required wiring harness. It has all the appropriate electrical connections the plug directly into the existing wiring. My phone wonít let me attach a picOne one weíd use is a Hopkins 42475 harness that plugs into the taillights of the toad and thus to the trailer connection. The harness we used for lights from the coach to the toad (similar to a Hopkins 56202 harness) looks a lot like the other one.

No, not trying to back-feed. Just 2 add-on applications at the same location.

Thanks!!

Bob-

I don't own a Jeep, so don't go on my word in your toad's particular case.

But, the idea makes sense. I vaguely recall plug-and-play products advertised that purport to do what you ask: 1) coach to toad lights and 2) toad lights to toad trailer hitch. Seems to me for best chance of success they'd have to come from the same manufacturer. As you say, there will be a stack-up of plug-and-play connectors at the toad lights.

For the price you'd pay, I'd say get the trailer light harness and give it a try on your already-wired Liberty.

Yes, theyíd be stacked so to speak. So after thinking further about this, I donít think itíll work. I can either have one or the other so for the trailer connection Iíll have to splice by hand, thatís not my forte.
Iíll try calling e-trailer where I got the first kit and throw the idea at them.
Thanks!!!

Update: FYI. Talked to etrailer today and explained the situation. As I figured I canít use these two adapters together. The only way to get a trailer light hookup on the Jeep is to get a straight hookup kit and splice the wiring. I hate doing that but itís my only option.
Thanks to those who chimed in!!! Peace ✌️

FYI, on my 2012 Liberty I used the MH/toad wiring that included new bulb installation in the lower section of the tail lights. I did need to upgrade bulbs to higher output for my satisfaction For the tow hitch (also self installed) I spliced into the OEM wiring under the rear lights. Two separate electrical paths. WFM, YMMV

That is another option Iíve thought about. I looked at that type of toad wiring system from the coach before I installed the current one but I didnít want to drill holes, etc. In retrospect, thatís what I shouldíve done. I may revisit that idea. Then I could use the wiring harness for the Jeep trailer hookup. Iíll just have a perfectly good, used wiring harness I have no use for. Oh well.
Thanks!!
