That motor/transmission setup is well suited of heavy work. Don't be afraid to let the v-10 spin! It can run high rpm's all day long.

Don't know which V-10 you are talking about.............but they will all get you up the hill. I find that 4000-4500 works for me. A lot of drivers complain about the racket it makes working at hi RPM. In a class A this is up to the dog house. Some are better than others at reducing the noise. Please be sure to never use 85 octane gas in the hills or anywhere else.

Some older V10 chassis and MH makes have a 3500lb hitch capacity limit. You should be sure about this.

Our Dakota is 03, has 167k on the dash and over 100K towing between us and the previous owner ( a friend). Last year we did Yellowstone and Alaska, and had no problems with our V10 or the Dakota.

Thumbs up Ram 1500

We have a 2013 Winnebago Vista 30t (V10 Triton on F53 chassis), and flat tow a 2013 Ram 1500 Longhorn Laramie, have Blue Ox tow base, and tow bar, Brake Buddy Classic (tan one with wireless remote) and RVi Tow Battery Charger (7 pin round on rv and 6 pin round on Toad). We have had zero issues towing vehicles (past vehicles include 97 TJ, 95, 98 ZJ'S 2014 WK2). I usually keep it around 65 mph not really in a hurry to get an where (weather changes driving speeds), take it a little slower going through the passes in Colorado (manual shift to lower gear for climbing and decent on hills not so much brake ware). Oh and it weighs about 6800 pounds (give or take a few pounds)

I towed a Honda Odyssey on a dolly behind our Type C MH over the pass out of Jackson Hole to the west. Made it fine up the 10 mile 10% grade and down the other side and it didn't even have the V-10.

Wow, and you're about 2000lbs over your factory hitch capacity rating...give or take...completely irresponsible.

We have a Dakota 4x4. I saw a V10 with an Explorer toad. Didnt get to visit with them. Dont know, maybe it was a diesel. If you tow a heavier vehicle with a V10 please let me know how that goes. Really appreciate it.[emoji4]

If you are asking about an F53 chassis with a V10:

We tow a Jeep Grand Cherokee at about the same weight with out problems. You should be OK if you keep your Gross combined weight under the maximum and do not exceed hitch capacity. The chassis, running gear, power train, etc., are designed to handle the gross combined weight listed by Ford.

I have been looking for someone towing an open trailer. I looked at a used vehicle towable four down and figured minimum $5000 and then another $2000 in tow equipment for minimum $7000. I have a 2013 Chryler 300 S that weighs 3900lbs. I was looking at R n R Trailer - aluminum, weight 1240lb at $4200. What drawbacks have you experienced towing your '32 Duece"? PS: I am jealous. Never thought about bringing my '36 Chrysler Touring Sedan along...
Please share what you can to help me decide which way to go.

None. I can back up anytime needed. Only two places I had to drop the trailer because of length. Goshen at the I rally and a place we go to in Florida if I can't get a pull through. Mine is steel and 1700 lbs. my coup is 2400 and my Falcon is 2800. I use a winch for loading and in loading. Not too much different towing and not. I bought the trailer when we got the RV. RV has 80000 miles and second set of tires. Trailer has about 70000 miles and third set of tires. I replace the tires when the tread is almost gone. 20000 each for first set that were 14 inch byply, second were 15 inch byply, 20000 out of them and third set radial 1st and d rating. That set is thirty plus. Tp always checked each trip, repack bearings each year and adjust breaks each trip with a squirt of grease. Trailer is from Georgia. Hope this helps. I also use 7000 lb.stabilizers behind the wheels when loading/unloading.
