Well wratchet,
It all depends on just what you plan on doing with the intended 4x4, after you get it ready for towing. If you plan on say, using it for off road exploration and a general run-a-round street toy, the Jeep (just about any year '97 or later) is a close to a versital 4x4 as you can get and, it's seriously easy to set up for towing.
If you need cargo carrying capabilities, a 4x4 truck is recommended. Chevy's been flat towable for years, as well as Dodge and GMC. But Ford, came into the game late. They didn't setup their 4x4s for flat towing until 2012 and later. Now, this is of course, talking about the 1500 series GMC and Chevy and, the F-150 Fords. Not sure about the larger, heavier versions.
There are many SUV 4x4s out there to that can be flat towed but, again, it's about what you're going to use it for when not being towed.
