We tow a 1994 Acura Integra with 5 speed manual 4 down. Owners manual says not to, but we have not had a problem in 40,000mi of towing, had the transmission inspected during an engine change this spring and it looked great!

I might be getting ahead of myself with this topic, as I've yet to sell my 5'er and buy a DP.

I currently own an 09' Jetta TDI automatic. Love the car, great on mpg's. Would hate to replace it with another car just to tow, much less get a dolly to lug around and store.

I'm wondering if these Jetta's can be towed? I'll certainly go check with the dealer, but I might as well ask here also.

Has anyone here towed a Jetta auto?

Thanks for all the responses and opinions!

According to Remco all front wheel drive VW's with automatic transmissions from 1982 through 2011 can not be towed 4 down.
