I’m a bit confused about this post. RoamerDFW says he is a “total newbie” but he (or she?) joined in April, 2018 and has 39 posts. Am I missing something here??

We have the same tow bar assembly along with the Invisibrake, which is what it looks like you have from the look of the small wire. We’ve had ours for almost three years and it’s (tow bar and brake system) still working well.
When hooked up, I wind wire around the the umbilical so it doesn’t drag. When unhooked, I wrap it around th the hitch ball then slide the connector end through the wrapped wire. When disconnecting make sure to grab the metal connector and not the wire or it will separate from the connector.

Will this last road conditions and should we thread it into the tube like the other wires instead of just wrapped the way they installed it?Attachment 237707
The black wire is a monitor wire that is connected to your braking system in your jeep . There is a light on your coach dash or should be that indicates the brakes are on in your jeep when you depress your brake pedal in the coach.
