Tow bar kit & brake system install recommendation

Hi friends, does anyone have a recommendation for where to go to our what best products to buy to get my 45' Tiffan Bus hooked up to tow my new Grand Cherokeet? Ive never done this before, but the guy who sold me the Tiffan gave me his Air Force One braking system. My main questions - who makes the best tow bar and other accessories (Demco?), and by chance does anyone know who best to go to for installation in Phoenix area? Thank so much! Pat

If your new to your coach already has the air connection on the back for the Air Force One, you are way ahead of the game. Go ahead and install the AF1 in your Cherokee or look at the M&G air system. An air brake system is one of the easiest to hook up each time you town. The Demco Excalibar II is an excellent tow bar as well as the Blue Ox. I have a Demco base plate I've been using for almost four years and it has been great. The Blue Ox base plate may be the least visible one on the GC, I'm not familiar with how it installs.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I recommend the NSA ReadyBrute towbars, or if you want something heavier then the NSA Atlas. They have a lifetime warranty!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

We use a Roadmaster tow bar system and are pleased with it. There are a number of good quality tow bars on the market. Just have to figure out which one best fits your needs.

For our braking system, we installed the M&G braking system and it is great. From my perspective, The M&G is best because it is paired up with the coach air brake system.

Good luck on your quest.

Roadmaster tow brackets and tow bar are hard to beat the brackets are more roabust built and have a excellent safety record, i have installed over 15 brackets on my and friends toads, the instructions are easy and all parts included.
I would suggest the 521440-4 kit with X bar because of the weight of the toad and what tow bar you like .
The brake system you have is excelent , I like M&G but they dont have one of the old style for the 18 GC.

I am towing my Grand Cherokee with a Blue Ox Aventa LX and it's nice. I wish I had the AF one braking system, or the M&G. They are easier to set up and I like the the way they brake.

I am in a similar situation. We have a Ready Brute Elite on our current RV towing a Jeep Wrangler. We are about to take possession of a Tiffin Bus (40AP) and I am trying to decide whether to switch that system over or move to AF1 or M&G with the more advanced proportional braking using the air system from the Bus. Not sure what to do.
