Tow straps

Just purchased a Mastertow THD80. My front tires are 10" wide and the #3000 straps I got seem too small for the width. Can you buy longer over the top straps? The tire is only 26" tall. Don't want to loose my Mustang.

I've subscribed to this thread because I have the same issue with my Focus ST. In place of the Focus, I was going to by a new GT 500, but didn't want to risk adding a driveshaft discount. A Mustang can't be towed 4 down. How did you adapt your Mustang to keep the rear tires on the ground?

I have this strap. it is adjustable in width.

I tow a hyundai Sonata or my 1995 toyota gt convertible which has a much wider tire.. I can adjust the strap for either car.

I just bought the same dolly used today, and in the manual they show two types of straps one non adjustable and the other is adjustable for multiple sizes of tires both height and width. They have a steel ring that let's you adjust as well as center strap has multiple slots for taller and wider tire. Check out Mastertow Web site. I looked for a part number for you but didn't find any. Their Web say's these straps good for tires size 12 through 20.

The problem is the way they specify the usability of tow straps by designating a rim size. My car has 18 inch wheels, but the OD of the tires is only 25.4 inches. The tires are a very low profile of 40%. The strap manufacturers need to specify a maximum tire width and a maximum tire diameter (not wheel diameter) that their straps will fit. OK...off my soapbox!
