If you want to know if these are towable, go to Motorhome magazine's web site and click on the tow guide for the year(s) you are looking for. The guide will tell you what is towable and if you have to do special things, like stopping every 200 miles and running toad engine, etc.

Look about half way down the page, right side under Dinghy Guide. Years 2002 through 2010 are shown.

The following link to MotorHome will give you some info on different vehicles that are towable. Look about half way down the page, right side.

Yes, sort of. I went through the same Ford Escape though process you probably are discovering some questions and problems on the transmission that have apparently been solved.

My answer was the Hybrid, which has no transmission problems and tows just wonderfully.

You'll first want to check which year of these two you are considering to tow, then go to the link provided by JC2 and see if they are towable. It can vary from year to year and model.

All cars are 4 wheel down towable. It just depends on how far you want to tow...

I have a 2004 Subaru WRX 5-speed I tow behind my 2003 Southwind. I think the Forester and WRX are the same as far as towing. I use a Demco tow bar with the optional shield. No problems so far (17,000 mi) and have been everywhere in the West and Canada.

I had a Subaru Outback that I towed 4 down with no problems. I believe that all Subaru's with the Manual Transmission are towable. The only reason I sold my Subaru is that knee and foot problems made it tough to use the manual transmission.
