Towing 2011 Hyundai Veracruz FWD Suv.

My question is this spring We will be taking a trip to Decatur Illinois from Jacksonville NC. I have to tow our SUV which will only be going one way not coming back.
My MH is a 1997 Fleetwood Southwing with the 460.
I was told by u haul that I had to use a dolly not the trailer because of the weight.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

JMHO: I'd say that the U Haul assessment is correct , the weight of the trailer with the SUV loaded would most likely, put you over your hitch limits.

A dolly will save 1,000 lbs+ in weight and drop the tongue weight considerably.

Next step will be to find the owners manual, for your SUV and check on dolly towing . Being Front Wheel Drive , it should be , but it would be nice to be positive .

Your RV may be close to max towing with a dolly but way over with a trailer.

When they extend the chassis, many times the hitch rating needs to be dropped.

My 1999 30 ft class C hitch was down graded to 3500 lb.
