Towing

Hey guys/gals,

Since REMCO Towing went out of business I donít have a quick source for answering which vehicles can be towed 2down. Does anyone have a resource to replace them?

Thanks

Don't have a source, but it's reasonably safe to assume that most front-wheel drive vehicles can be towed with the front wheels on a dolly. Anything rear-wheel, 4-wheel, or all-wheel drive cannot be.

Find a FWD vehicle you might like, and then check online (most owner's manuals are available online today) to verify that 2-down is OK.

Regards,

Randy

Each car has an owners manual, it will be explained in emergency OR recreational towing chapters.

If it can be towed by a tow truck with 2 wheels on the ground it will show that.

If you can locate a January issue of RV magazine they always list the cars that are towable 4 down.

Past years of Motorhome magazine has towing guides up through 2020 and maybe 2021.
What year/years are you thinking?

I believe the OP is looking for vehicles that can be dolly-towed. Note the request for info on “2down”.

Hey Randy,

That makes sense. Iím currently towing a 2012 VW Jetta (manual transmission) which tows great but is getting tough for my wife to get in/out of. So Iím thinking of buying my moms 2012 Buick LaCrosse with only 30k miles and itís front wheel drive.

Thanks

Duh on my part! Iím guilty of not reading the owners manual or the instructions. After doing so it looks like in good to go towing with a dolly as is.

Thanks
