Towing a 2012-2013 Ford Focus

I'm looking at flat towing a 2012-2013 focus with an automatic. Anyone have specific experience with this model? Any input would be appreciated !

David, I've been towing my 2012 focus for over 3 years with no issues. Put automatic transmission in neutral and disconnect neg. battery terminal per owners manual and flat tow. Very slick.. I installed a light kit from etrailer. Use a demco base plate with a readybrute tow bar with surge break system. Been a great and simple system.

Do a search. There are many pages about towing the 2012-14 Focus. If you don't own it yet go to ford.com and download the owners manual.
We got ours specifically for towing but now DW and I use it all the time.

I have towed my 2012 Focus automatic since it was new. I installed the blue ox baseplate. Since the toad battery is disconected I use coach power to the toad tail light assy's. I did the install myself so if you have more specific questions I may be able to help.

We have a 2013 focus automatic. Readybrute Elite with a Blue Ox baseplate. It's my first tow experience and has been a good one. A little apprehensive at first so kept the rear camera turned on! Just follow the ford owner instructions (simple). I had the entire installation done by a transmission shop. (A friend owns it). Very satisfied with the equipment, installation and the ride. Currently on a trip south with NO problems! Good luck!
