Towing a Ford Focus

Getting ready to set up my Ford Focus to tow with my Thor ACE 29.3 and would be very interested in hearing opinions on what equipment to use (tow bars, braking systems, etc). Kinda confused, especially about brake systems, any replies would be appreciated. Thanks,Ed D.

Have about 8000 miles towing a 2012 focus no problems. I went with the RVI brake and the Blue Ox tow bar set up. Don't know the Focus is behind us. Have fun and enjoy

Towing a Ford Focus

Thanks for the replies, leaning towards BlueOx and Rvi3.It's a bit of a learning experience so I appreciate other opinions. The only problem now is to find an installer, I don't have a lot of faith in those I've talked to so far. Thanks,Ed D.

How do you guys get juice for your Rvi system? I was going to do all the stuff Ford says is necessary to tow in the manual and then hook up a new 12 volt line to the toad battery and ground it to the lug on the firewall and run it to the Rvi but now I'm reading there's a chance this could put juice back into the system and damage the transmission even with the negative cable off the battery. What do you folks do? Confused.

Put diodes in the circuit so the current can only run one way.
