Towing a Hummer H2

Good Day All

I am looking at the purchase of a 2020 Nexus Wrath and want to tow a Hummer behind it. Does anyone see an issue with this and can it be toaded 4 wheels down.
Thanks
Darrell

The H2 is a Chevy Silverado with different sheet metal and more weight. I don't think you can tow it 4 down without disconnecting the drive train.

As for flat towing, AMG (the company that built it) says that with the transfer case in N, the Hummer may be towed unlimited distances.

I have never towed one, but have read about people towing them for 10 years with no problems.

Can’t tow it? Remco???

None of that is necessary. Just put the transfer case in neutral, hook up the towbar, lights, and go.

I believe you should be okay on all accounts as long as you abide by all other weights and weight ratings. The 2020 Nexus Wraith in all floorplans appears to have a towing capacity of 9.500 lbs. with a 10,000 lb.-rated factory installed hitch.

The H2 was approved by the manufacturer for flat-towing from the 2003 model year through its run to the 2009 model. As such, they appeared in the dinghy towing guides from 2003 to 2009 as being approved for towing with no modification needed and no restrictions.

The H2 had a base curb weight from 6,400 lbs to about 6,614 lbs.

You don't say what model year your H2 might be but look in your owner's manual for towing instructions. I've included the pages from the 2007 H2 manual (pages 369 and 370) as an example and attached it to the bottom of this post.

AMG manufactured the H1, not the H2.

I use the Blue Ox Avail tow bar and the M&G Braking system. Works perfectly on the H2 and simple to use. I, however, have a ‘19 Cornerstone which comes with the Spartan Safe Haul so I already had the airline at the rear of the coach. If you go that route, M&G can advise the best situation for you.

Brakes should be installed in some way - as it is Heavy!

Unless you are just a Fan there are many other choices........

Good Morning
I know this is a old thread
I am going to flat tow my 2006 H2, I have a couple of questions.
1. Do I leave the ignition in in accessory?
2. Do I need a charge line?
3. Do I need a battery disconnect?
4.Rock guard recommendation.
Any thing else I am forgetting?

Thank you
Steve

Turn the key off after you get the transfer case in neutral, I put it in my pocket and lock the doors.

No charging is required.

No battery disconnect is required.

I never used a rock gaurd in the 15 years I towed our H2.
