Towing a Jeep Wrangler

I am planning to tow our Jeep Wrangler with our RV. I have the tow package installed. Do i need to disconnect anything from the Jeep? I also have the aux break installed.

Put the transfer case in neutral, turn key 1 click to unlock steering wheel and that's it. Mine is Automatic and I leave it in park.

I am not sure, but I don't think the newer models wranglers have a steering lock. You can pull the key in lock and tow. I think I have read that on here. I have a 11 wrangler so I need to look. I tow on a trailer.

06 jeeps are TJ models. 07 to 13 jeeps are Jk models which don't use the lock on steering. This is for the wranglers. Don't know about the socker mom jeeps.

I have an 08 Wrangler and it does have the steering lock. As I understand it, sometime in mid 08, they changed and the steering lock was changed. Not 100% sure about that. Just know mine has a steering lock.

X2....No steering wheel lock. Hook up, put transfer case in neutral, tansmission in park, pull the key and your off. Although the Jeep's manual states you need to turn the key on and disconnect the battery or pull a fuse or something it is not accurate and needs to be updated.

Manual was updated in my 2012. I lock it and roll on.
