On the long mountain passes like the Eisenhower pass on I70 we have disconnected at the chain up area and reconnected at the chain off area.
Only takes 1/2 longer but much easier on me and the MoHo.

Some Jeeps are lighter than others...that's a huge statement!! Careful what you wish for, some folks can't live with the trade comfort for lightweight.


My CJ is great fun when the weather is good, and incredibly capable off road, but it's highway manners leave much to be desired.







At 2,200 lbs, it's an effortless tow behind the Sprinter.

Thanks for the weight info and input. As for the sacrifice of comfort for weight, I am ok with that idea. This won’t be a daily driver. Just something to have fun with the grandsons and transportation from base camp when traveling.

Good idea unless you travel alone as I often do. Could be a long walk back to get the Jeep.
