Towing jet skis and a scooter

Hi

I looked but couldn’t find a post that addresses this.

I want to tow my jet skis and a scooter. What type of hitch or hook up do you recommend or know of.

Thanks.

Tom

You already own that trailer (or maybe multiple trailers), right? So you need a ball mount hitch with a ball of suitable size for the coupler on those trailers. Your coach should already have a hitch receiver, and a ball mount just slips into it.

A ball mount consists of a square box tube that fits the size receiver you have (usually 2" square) and then a replaceable hitch ball that matches the coupler. A small trailer usually has a 1-7/8" or 2" coupler.

You need a light hook-up for the trailer stop/tail/turn lights. If your trailer(s) have electric brakes, you would need an electric brake controller as well. You didn't describe the trailer(s), so we can only guess.

If you are asking about towing one trailer behind the other behind your tow vehicle. Don't do it.

I tow a scooter and a fishing kayak on a custom trailer, you could do a similar setup without the storage box. There is a wheel clamp mount and a ramp for the scooter, plus it carries a spare battery with solar panel, a jerry can and my spare generator. Possibly you could convert a second hand double jetski trailer?

I would consider something like this. If I understand correctly, the OP already has 2 jet skis. Get a 4-ski trailer, and modify the front part to carry your scooter, maybe? Or extend the tongue on your 2-ski trailer to carry a scooter sideways.

Both would require some work.

Oh, and unload the scooter prior to unloading the jetskis.

Just out of curiosity--have you already used the RV to launch the skis, OP? Seems like it would be an absolute nightmare to back that short little trailer with a very long tow vehicle. Combine that with the fact that getting a little too close to the water yields massive possible repairs--I don't think I'd be man enough for it. I'm sure lots of people are perfectly capable, but I know what the boat ramp and turnarounds look like at my normal lake, and don't think I'd be capable.

This is the front of the jet ski trailer and the scooter.

Going from Vegas to needles ( pirates cove).

Was trying to have campground run around fun with the scooter.

Sorry for being so vague.

Thanks

Maybe a hitch doubler with the scooter on a hitch carrier in the top receiver and the trailer connected to the bottom receiver with an extra long ball mount. I've carried a 2 bike hitch mount carrier with 2 electric recumbents, total weight of bikes and carrier about 150-200 pounds, and towed a 3,500 pound boat with the lower receiver and said extra long ball mount. No problems. This would depend on your hitch having adequate capacity to carry the weight of your scooter and the carrier for it as well as the tongue weight of your trailer.

Hi Dirtrider and all contributed

Trip went and still is going great.

Went to pirates cove, launched the skis with no issue. Spent 3 days then took off yesterday for San Diego. Here now. Got a blow out on the way here but the tow set up
