Towing limits for F150
Son in law bought a gently used 2016 Ford F-150.
Details I have from him (limited as that may be) are.....
Eco boost 2.7 V6
Super crew? (4 door version)
Short box
4WD
Based on info I’ve found it should be okay for about 8500 pounds towing max.
Sound about right?

That would be if it had a 3.73 rear end. My guess is has more like a 3.55 so knock off 1000 lbs

Seriously?
I didn’t ask what gear ratio he had, nor do I figure he’d know.
Would that be posted somewhere. Remember it’s a used truck.

On an F-150 there is also a limit on frontal area of the towed vehicle. It is set at 60 square feet frontal area. An 8X8 trailer is 64 square feet.
I have a friend on the bass fishing circuit that tows with an ecoboost and loves it.
I tow with a 5.4 in my 150 and 5000 pounds is all I want to haul although given how its done 6000-7000 could be done but carefully and it won't do 75 uphill. You can bet on that.
Make sure it has a tow package with trans cooler and those rear gears are important to how much he can haul.

Well,
Since this section of the IrV2 forum is primarily for motorhome towing, I'm not sure you'll get an accurate answer for your question. If it were me, I'd just jump on the net, type in "2016 F-150" owners manual and, you'll find everything you need to know about that truck and it's capabilities.

My mistake ....I read the forum title incorrectly.
You’re right....I should have posted in the towing section.
Sorry all.
