I paid $850 for a drive shaft disconnect kit and $300 to a shop to modify my existing driveshaft and reinstall it. Has worked fine for a couple of years.

Can't remember exactly but it seems the Remco product was around $900. Installation another $500-$600. The base plate and install was additional so another $500 approx. All in was close to $2000 maybe a little bit more. Works great. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Where are you located?
