Towing with Class C
Just getting into the class c and want to tow a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. Suggestions on the towing apparatus that would be best and also would the surge brake connection be sufficient? Thanks

I recommend contacting a hitch shop for recommendations as to options. There are a significant number of Class C, and some Class A, motorhomes with frame extensions that are inadequate for towing a vehicle. The shop will also advise you of the needed braking system. Surge brakes like the Ready Brake utilize a complex set of cables and levers that can be failure prone if not kept maintained, so you want professional advice. They can also present significant brake actuation problems if one attempts to back up the coach with the towed vehicle still attached.

Do your research there are many ways to do this. I use the following to tow my wrangler
Blue ox tow bar
RVI brake system
Tow mate wireless tow light
Been using system for 7 years across several flat towed cars without issue. Safe travels
Enjoy the journey

A simple cable from the simple surge lever on the hitch to the brake pedal on the toad is a "complex" system?

Agree. I wouldn’t comment regarding specific devices unless you have personal experience. My experience with this system has been fantastic. Simple, economical and very affective.

There is nothing complex about the Ready Brake setup. I have used one for 5 years now on a MBS Sprinter, a Tiffin 32SA gasser, and now a Tiffin Red DP. It does not get much simpler than this setup and it works. My wife and I installed the emergency breakaway setup on our Wrangler, witty an argument, so its not hard to do. We have towed more times than I can count over the continental divide, with no issues, so I say strongly consider it. Also, the warranty and support is outstanding from Ready Brake.

My ready brake system is quick to connect and disconnect. A total of 4 cables with the break-away system. 2 stay on the toad and 2 to connect every trip. Whatever type of system you I suggest you get get a steel tow bar, it doesn't have the work hardening issues of aluminum tow bars. Good luck.
