Anyone using this unit? Looks easy to use

Real question is that since you plug the light unit into a cigarette lighter inside the car does it drain the battery of the toad? Anyone experince a dead battery upoin arrival?

Or is this a non issue since only turn signals and brakes are really used, will not be towing at night. I did read some where the running lights stay on all the time. True or False?

Do the magnets keep the unit on the car? and any paint scratching?

I started looking at this light bar for my up-coming new Wrangler, but how do you get the power cord into the vehicle in order to plug it into a 12V power outlet. Through a partially open window, through a door then shut it on the weather stripping? Then if it starts to rain will you have a water leak around the cord? Just couldn't like how this would work.

So I've ordered the battery powered Towmate HL38BUC-7RVC which is powered by a battery that's supposed to hold up for 10-22 hours use before re-charging. Also ordered a hitch tow light mount that inserts into a 2" receiver hitch with a 18" plate for the Tow light to set on eliminating the possibility of scratching up the vehicle finish. No experience yet, should know in a couple of weeks as I will try it out on my current Wrangler before the new one comes in.

Didn't get any responses when I asked for any experience on the Forum with these light bars.

I use one for a couple of vehicles I tow. The taillights do stay on all the time. They are not even tied to the transmitter on the tow vehicle end. If the bar has power, they're on. As for the magnets scratching the car, they didn't mine. But I usually use a mount I made that mounts in the receiver hitch on the towed vehicle. It sticks out from the rear of the toad and helps get folks attention. I tow both a Jeep or a Pickup so it was cheaper than wiring both vehicles.

The bar uses all LED lights so there is not a lot of current draw. I haven't had it on for longer than 4 or 5 hours so I can't say about long term if it will drain your battery.
