Toyota Tacoma or Nissan Frontier??

I currently have a 2002 Suzuki XL-7 that I have been towing behind my MH for 12 years. It has been fantastic, but is being retired due to nearing 200,000 miles.

I own a 2013 Tacoma 4WD, 4.0, automatic. I want to tow it, but am concerned about either a pump or a driveline disconnect. Meanwhile I am considering selling it, and getting a new Nissan Frontier, 4WD, standard transmission. Does anyone have experience towing either one of these?

Thank you,
Jerry D

I have towed a 2007 Tacoma Dbl Cab. I had a driveline disconnect that was installed. Worked very good for me. You will hear a few people who have had problems as with all products. I would tow a Tacoma again in a heart beat.
In fact, I took the disconnect and base plate off the truck when I sold it. Still have both sitting in my shed collecting dust.

I specifically purchased a Nissan Frontier 4 cyl manual tranny. Towing zero issues, zero added item expense. Love Toyota quality. Local Toyota dealer told me, towing was not approved, and if during maintenance tow equipment was observed they would void my warranty.

Several on this site told me he can't do that....and I agree. But, if it ever needed work, who wants to deal with the hassle?

I have been towing a Tacoma with a drive shaft disconnect since 09. It's been a great toad. No fuses to pull or anything special to tow.
