Transferring tow package

We are looking into updating to a newer (2020ish) Equinox from our 2014 AWD unit. We have towed our '14 to Alaska and back with a few issues (drained battery even w/ a charge line in place), but otherwise happy.

My question: Should I transfer the tow package and is it even possible?
Or has the frame/body style changed making this impossible?

Any input/experience would be appreciated. Thanks

You can look at the base plates for the new and old vehicle and determine if the numbers are the same. If they are, unless you do your own work, it might be the same price to just buy new ones, or you'll be paying install labor twice. If you do remove the old base plates, you might get lucky selling them on Craigslist.

Like Don said if the part number for your existing base plate is still the one used for the new model you could reuse it. Without checking myself I would just add the Equinox was updated in 2018. It at least got a new front grill and I would think they changed underpinnings as well.
