Triple Tow

I am comtemplating to tow my '94 Jeep YJ (3000 lbs) and my enclosed motorcycle trailer (3800 lbs) behind my motorhome. Would be ball hitches of 10,000 capacity. Set up would be Motorhome, Jeep then trailer..

Let the flaming begin.. Please keep in mind that this set up is legal in lots of states & Canada.

Be nice guys.

Not Flamin'

I understood that a triple was only legal if there was a 5th wheel in the middle - I will watch to see what others know (or think, anyway, like me).

Biggest issue you may face is overall length in the states than allow triple towing. Some states limit the length to 60 feet. If you have a 40 foot motor home add about 15 feet for the tow bar and toad that only leaves 5 feet for the trailer. That is overall length to include hitches, tow bars etc...

I agree with Mike. From what I understand, double towing is only legal if the first towed trailer is a fifth wheel, not a bumper pull.

I thought the towing capacity of Jeep YJ and TJ was 2000 pounds.

in a few states a 5th wheel is called for but not all states.. I am looking to hear from those with experience.

Don’t do it. Triple bumper is not allowed in any state I know of.

You can do a triple with fifth wheel, but not in every state! The crazy train or wiggle wagon is frowned on.

just today I seen a few vehicles being towed by various vehicles from possibly Kansas to south TX, not sure but going from north to south. I saw one van pulling a car on a trailer and a hitch on the trailer flat towing another vehicle, saw a few that way and some others towing on a trailer and dolly. I not sure if that's legal in OK or not. but I do know towing a 5ver and boat is legal here.
