Unfamiliar Roadmaster Falcon 5250 Tow Bar

I recently purchased a second-hand Roadmaster Falcon 5250 T/B. I have seen quite a few of this model [Falcon 5250], and liked it, and this is my 2nd T/B with the Roadmaster Brand on it. I wanted this because it stays on the MH and not the toad as my previous one. Anyway, the reason this is an unfamiliar T/B is that it has about a 2ft upright structure with two 3/4in bolts in slots in it behind the pin holes to secure the tow bar arms in their storage position. I cannot find any resemblance in any 'Google Search' of a Roadmaster Falcon 5250 T/B.

If any body can give me a clue as to what this upright fixture is for, I would greatly appreciate it. If it is of no use, then it will probably relieve my T/B of about 20# if I remove it with my Blue Tip Wrench.

I can provide an image if need be. Give me a couple of days for this cold front to move out. 18deg and snow right now.

I have the exact tow bar but I can't picture what you are referencing. If you could send a pic I will try to help. Someone else might chime in also in the meantime.

I agree, I just can't picture it either.

Here are images of my T/B with upright bar in question. Does anybody know what it is used for?

So it is not factory. Maybe the previous owner added it as a spare tire holder? I do not have one of those on mine.

I don't know about prev owner adding, because it is all power coated as one. I would have just used spray paint. Decals are all good and visible, so don't think it was added and then power coated. If it is a spare tire rack, it is too small for my 11Rx22.5.

From the picture I don't see why a 22.5 would not mount to it.

I haven't really measured the upright. I do carry a spare, but from the size of it and just looking at the upright, it don't look like it would.

Maybe there was a mount that mounted to the wheel and then mounted using the 3/4 in bolts. I would use a flaming hacksaw on it. Lol.

I use the same tow bar and it doesn't have the upright piece that is shown in your picture. I'm thinking some sort of mounting for a spare tire or bike rack, or maybe they stored something there like a rock guard while camped. By the looks of the bolt size, I doubt it mounted a 22.5" tire. The Roadmaster web site doesn't show anything similar to your photo.
