Using the Anti-lock brake function of your toad
I've modified our first toad extensively, installing almost all of the mechanical systems from a 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata factory turbo into our '95 Miata. This required researching how various systems work, and I discovered that the anti-lock braking system works completely independent from the engine ECU.
I was thinking about winter driving today, and how it would seem to be handy to have the ABS system working in a toad. I already have 12v power to our Miata to power the RVIbrake system without running the battery down. In theory, I could install a diode or two and also power the ABS brain from the RV. With ABS functioning, I could dial the RVIbrake system up to a higher power level and let the Mazda ABS modulate the brakes in a panic stop.
I'm not at all likely to do this, as most of the time we tow a full-size pickup hauling our side-by-side. Just thought I would throw the idea out there to make other RV gearheads think.
