California is produce inspection only, I-5 and I-40( my usual entry points) , every vehicle stops , usually just questions , but when DW admitted to a store bought lime in the fridge they examined it and let it pass.

CA has 16 'Border Protection Stations' and it isn't just about produce.
It also includes invasive species that can cross borders via watercraft, RVs etc
