Well I did it...22' Cherokee Trailhawk

Like the title says I did it, bought a new 2022 Cherokee Trailhawk. Was going back and forth between wrangler, GC, GCL the 4xe models yada yada and after tossing and turning I found a hell of a deal on this new one in Tempe AZ. Black, Leather, convenience package and tow package. Flew out and drove it home yesterday.

Now learning all the stuff on TOADs as I am selling my Excursion (I will miss you baby you have been so good to me) and TT (you too dear) this summer.

I have been following the www.rvlove.com guys videos/write ups and his set up. I do like the roadmaster baseplate etc. and the way he kept his tow hooks.

Next is I want to find out all the options on brake systems.

Any advice much appreciated.

AJ

Congratulations! I did the same in December. I recently finished setting it up for flat towing. It was a lot more work than my previous Wrangler.

I went with the Roadmaster base plate & my existing Roadmaster Nighthawk towbar. Roadmaster has gone thru a couple of redesigns on the base plate, so you want to get the ones with a manufacturing date in 2023. It still has some fit issues, but better than the previous designs.

For the brake system I installed Air Force One, as I had done on the previous Wrangler.

For lights I went with the Roadmaster Smart Diode kit for Jeeps with LED lights & ParkSense. The lights work fine, but I have a buzzing sound in the Jeeps tail lights when the motorhomes running lights are on. Roadmaster has yet to determine why this is happening.

Lastly I installed the Roadmaster charge line kit.

Have yet to tow it, but hoping to in the next month.

Let me know if you want any details on my installs. Looks like we are about 20 miles from each other.

Thank you!. I would love to come checkout your set up if possible.

I will be renting RVs for a little bit so i will have to go with some sort of electric braking system or I could go down the readybrake route. Still evaluating everything.
