We tow a Lincoln MKZ hybrid four down. Easy to hook up and easy to set up for towing.

We just finished rigging our 2014 Chevy Spark for flat-towing behind our 2006 Winnebago Aspect. The Spark weighs 2,269 lbs. We are using a Blue Ox Alpha 6,500 lb tow bar, a Blue Ox faceplate, and a Roadmaster 4" rise hitch to bring the towbar within 3/4" of level. I've currently opted for magnetic tail/stop lights for the toad - but when I get a bit more ambitious I'll likely wire the toad's taillights to plug directly into the motorhome.

2011 CRV EX-L 4WD and 2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon auto (highly modified). The CRV is our third CRV and the Wrangler is our second Wrangler. Depends on where we are going as to which one we take.

You didn't mention an auxiliary bake system to handle break-away situations.

We're happy with our 2014 Honda CRV EX AWD. Jeep is another very popular choice. Also older
Saturns, Suzuki's, and GEO Trackers, if you're looking for something less costly.

crv appears very popular here. the other day i went to a dealer to check it out. test drove two units one was lx, another was ex-l. both were 2014's. the looking, the height and driveability were great, but both were quite rough while waiting for green lights, and very noisy on the road. let me ask crv owners - don't you guys have such issues? or did i just pick up the bad samples?

oops, it's said never pour on parade .

We have a '14 CRV EX AWD. Purchased 2 mos ago. Flat towing it with Blue OX Setup. We love it. Comfortable, economical, roomy, and looks great too. No real issue with rough ride. Perhaps just a tad bit of noise on freeway but very tolerable. We're happy with it.

We tow a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. All you need is a baseplate, Tow Bar, Brake Buddy, some wiring and you are off and running. Takes about 10 minutes to hook up and unhook and it tows great. The best part is it's an automatic. No more shifting. We used to have an older Wrangler and it was fine, but we do a lot of driving once we park the RV.

There are a lot of vehicles that you can tow. You can't tow AWD with 4 down or with a dolly. Hope this helps.

Take Care,

Steve

Steve: Don't know if you were simply referring to not being able to drive YOUR JEEP AWD 4 wheels down or with a dolly, or that all AWD vehicles not being able to be towed 4 down or with a dolly.

We have no problem towing our 2014 Honda CRV EX AWD 4 wheels down, per owner's manual. We have a tow charge line from our MH to an RVI TOW BATTERY CHARGER in the Honda.

2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, 4028 lbs Roadmaster towbar, Invisabrake. I really enjoy the Cherokee and it has been problem free (so far at 18000 miles).
In the past I towed a Jeep CJ5, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Honda Accord with a dolly. I'll never use something like a dolly or trailer again due to the extra hassle, just personal preference.

I guess I am misinformed. All of the reading I have done indicated that AWD without a transfer case or switch would preclude both 4 down and dolly towing. I can't use a dolly with my Wrangler but it's perfect for 4 down.
