What to pay for 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited

Hello all, So we all have a pretty good idea on what to pay for a new motorhome. Pick all your options, add it all up and get 25 to 28 percent off.

Now my question, we are looking at a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, so not considering the manufacturers discount (we will add the manufacturers and dealers discounts to get the total discount) how much can you realistically get off said unit looking at an MSRP of $42,175 and 2 options: 1 being tow package $995 and the other color $245 and add Destination Charge $1,495?

I can buy a big buck motorhome and feel like I got a fair deal but when it comes to autos it seems a mystery. If anyone wants to share their Jeep buying experience we would appreciate it.
Thanks, Joe

It all depends on the dealer and how much they will take, when we bought our 2017 Cherokee Overland edition 3 years ago this week (not Grand Cherokee), it was heavily discounted being a previous model year car still on the lot. It had an MSRP of $43,460 (I have a PDF of the window sticker saved on my computer) and we bought it for $32,500 at a dealer a couple of hundred miles away from home. At the same time their was a nearly identical 2017 Cherokee Overland edition (different color) sitting on the lot at a dealer 45 miles away and they would not go below $41,000 on the price.

If your motor home is on a Freightliner Chassis, I believe you can get a good deal on a GC. Personally no experience because I purchased ours prior to our rig.

If you are or become a member of Freightliner's FCOC you can take advantage of the following discount program:

Chrysler Affiliate Rewards Program
Save thousands on the purchase or lease of select new Chrysler®, Dodge®, Jeep®, Ram and FIAT vehicles at the FCOC preferred price of 1% below factory invoice in addition to most consumer incentives.

I just bought a 2017 grand Cherokee overland about 6 months ago then got the FCA extended warranty (it is actually one of the few that are good) total cost was about 25k. Had 20k miles on it so the FCA warranty was a no questions asked.

I purchased a 21 GC Limited & a 21 Wrangler. Got about $8000 off of the GC. We planned to set them both up for towing but so far just tow the Wrangler & I'm thinking maybe not bother on the GC.

Invoice price can be found online. One fairly simple way to deal is to offer invoice, less rebates. Dealer gets his hold back plus any other incentives and customer gets a fair deal.
Just don't let them add a bunch of BS fees on the back end.
The above mentioned deal with Freightliner at 1% be!ow invoice sounds good too.

There are "no haggle" dealers around. Find out what they will sell one for and anything under that is probably a pretty good deal. Good luck.

Just be willing to "walk away" if you get a sense that dealer is not in the mood to move inventory. I'll do some pricing research on Edmunds.com Once you know the vehicle you want, including options I write it down on a piece of paper. For that matter, just bring in a blank piece of paper.

Salesman goes thru his normal spiel, flips a piece of paper in front of you. How's this?, well, it's not where I need to be. Hold the piece of you brought in and say "It's just not at my number" The salesman will come back " what is your price?". NEVER TELL HIM YOUR PRICE !!. Let him guess your number. My last purchase, after returning 2 weeks later, they beat my price by $500. Only after my wife called the salesman and said "Hey, Peter I just wanted to let you know my husband just left the house to drive down state to purchase that new Tundra I think, I really wanted to purchase from you, since you sold me my last Toyota". Sure enough 2 minutes later I get a call to return to the dealer. Ended up $3500 less than their first offer. And this was for a truck that had to be ordered to get tow mirrors.

I just ordered my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon from a local dealer. Done this to take advantage of a wheel\tire deal. But if I didn't want to do that I found the dealers in the DC area have the largest discounts by far. Most are located just west of DC, eg, Koons, Browns, etc. They tend to offer 6-9k off msrp. If you order from Koons they give you a flat 7.5% off.

Most high volume dealers these days advertise their bottom line prices online including all manufacturer discounts and rebates. No haggling.

The exception might be something in really high demand or higher end brands.
