Another Invisibrake user here. Didn't want to mess with installing and removing a brake system every time I hooked or unhooked. Installed the system myself. Has worked fine for over a year and a half, and 7000+ miles of full time travel.

Oh I still have the same TOAD

Thank you everyone for sharing your braking and towing systems. It is one of those subjects which like most, have different products used in different ways by different people. Knowing everyones main goal is “safety” I am sure all these different systems achieve that goal and based on personal preference (cost, ease of use, gas vs diesel) everyone has chosen the system they are comfortable with. Thank you very much. I really appreciate all your comments.

7 connections, only 2 have to do with the ReadyBrake.
I agree, I can set up my NSA tow bar in about 5 minutes or so. Easy peasy, Heck they even warrantied a part I lost and told them that I lost it. Good folks, I'm surprised I couldn't find them at the Tampa Show.

I took my tow bar up to NSA during the eclipse and to have them check it out (I bought it used). They completely overhauled it and didn't charge me anything. Surprized me as I am not the original owner.

And I understand the control tablet is a pain because it only has a 2-3 hour battery life, so it needs to be plugged in all the time. I have enough items plugged in

I stumbled on to the NSA N4000 which comes with their towing bars, but can be purchased separately and is mostly a mechanical system and mounts into your 2 inch hitch receiver and then wires into the TOAD braking system. $500

Anyone ever use that product. Or if not what do you use and like. I can go either way; portable or permanent. Pretty handy with electrical installed systems.
We've been using the NSA ReadyBrake system since 2012 with no problems. It's simple, effective, and the lifetime warranty doesn't hurt either!

I have a ReadyBrake on the way and am wondering what amount of slack you leave in your cable? I will be installing the cable this coming week in my Ranger. Any little tips?
