I have to remove my brake cable as the stow hook on the tow bar won't fit in the d-ring along with the brake cable eye.
Do you have a bigger link?

Well,
More RV overthinking. I disconnect my tow bar from the Jeep, fold it and rest it in it's rest, on the tow bar slider and it sits on the back of the coach. I wrap the safety cables and the umbilical around the tow bar and walk away, DONE!

Same. Stays on the back of the coach. Put the cover on it if I'm in a wet climate.

The DW sewed a bag for all the cables. So I just wrap all the cables around the hitch, slip the bag over it and draw the string tight. DONE!!

When bringing the Jeep, I use an old school a style bar. I tip it up, tie it off, and it stays on the Jeep. Or, if DW asks, I take it off and slid it under the MH. No one wants to walk off with it... Cables run through loops, so they stay. Since DW does not drive the Jeep, I can get a replacement in most towns, or in a day by AMZ (something to consider if you are the only driver).

I put all that stuff in a plastic file box that was made to hang legal size file folders one way, or letter size the other way. The pins, safety cables, umbilical, and breakaway cable all fit in there, along with the gloves I use to hitch and unhitch.

I have a tow dolly with lots of parts, unfortunately. I have a 5 gallon home depot bucket that goes in the trunk or the basement. It keeps everything together and is working so I live with it.

Ditto, only I use a small bag, takes up less space. Unless in a pull through, staying for one night, I leave nothing "loose" on the hitch or toad.

We have a Stowmaster that folds on the front of the toad, and a solid one that does not fold at all. I always use the solid one for long trips, and have for over 20 years, because I think it is stronger and I have more confidence in it.

When parked for a while I take it off and lean it up against a tree, or lay it on the ground, with a baggie over the hitch. One year at EAA Oshkosh I did this not realizing I was parked near a place designated for scrap pickup. One of the nearby campers saw it there and "salvaged" it. I had one heck of a time tracking it down and explaining to the "salvager" that it wasn't damaged and that the bend was actually built into the bar during construction. That was the only time I ever had a tow bar "walk off", and it was only because of where I inadvertently placed it, and the nature of most aircraft "home builders".
