Which Liberty to tow?

I've been towing a 2002 Jeep liberty which has worked great for us until now, it has developed a problem in which the repair costs exceed the value of the vehicle. So I've narrowed it down to replacing it with another Liberty and possible years of 2008 - 2012. Does anyone tow a Liberty in these years and what input might you have, either pro or con. Thank you in advance!

I have a 2011 Liberty. When it sits still in the driveway it's a great vehicle, otherwise if you touch something it breaks. Personally I'd never buy another one, but they are inexpensive.

+1 on the Jeep Liberty. I tow a 2011 Liberty Jet & it has been great. All Blue Ox setup /AirForce One. I wish they still made them.

I found a 2007 with "low" miles. Didn't go with a newer one because of having to disconnect the negative battery cable (per the book). But I'm in agreement on towing a Liberty. They are great.

Towed a 2012 liberty until last year . Had to replace trans at 68,000 miles, did myself for 300.00.. got lucky and found trans at salvage yard with 50 something thousand miles. All I can say is comparing this to older jeeps I have worked on , it was built a bit weak in my opinion. As far as towing, worked fine. As far as ride , pretty crappy .
