Wiring Kit 98 Tracker

Just got my base plates put on the Tracker for my Roadmaster Tow bar...also got the Brakebuddy Vantage...now I am trying to figure out the best wiring kit to get...I see the universal one by Roadmaster on Etrailer...any ideas or past success stories...?

Me personally I would go with the Magnetic kind and not mess with the lights on the Tracker.

Our 03 Tracker is wired with the universal wiring kit. Yes, it's a bit more work than just using those magnetic stop/signal lamps, but it works well and makes for speedy connect/disconnect. We use that and their flexo-coil connector and receptacle that is mounted on the front valence panel on the tracker. Our tow bar is the falcon all terrain.

Works great!

I took the easy way out with my 96 ragtop Tracker and used one of these. I pinch the light bracket between the tailgate and rear window.

Good choice! In my case the ragtop was the deciding factor.

Yeah...mine is a rag top also...I wanted to put the lights on the top where the roll cage goes across...but the magnets are not quite strong enough due to top material covering the metal...so they co on the back just fine...

Although it may not be an issue, here's what I did for a license plate light:

Works fine but I rarely drive/tow at night ... it's a "just in case" item.

Yeah...that is a good idea! I dont think the plate has to be lit up...like you I have no desire for night ops! I like it because I can shift it to whatever vehicle I decide to tow...sometimes I pull my Chevy 2500 to take the golf cart in the back...

Actually, it depends on the State. Lots of states treat a toad like a trailer. Whether they enforce it is debatable ... you know, they won't until they do ...
