Wrong Demco Brake System Installed?

Just had a Blue Ox Baseplate and a Demco Stay-IN-Play brake system installed in my 2018 Chevy Equinox. Yesterday, both my blinkers started rapid firing when selected. The emergency blinker blink rate was fine. I ended up removing 2 of the recently installed fuses for the Demco Brake System. All was good. So, yes there's a problem with the install BUT, did the installer install the correct Demco Brake System. My tow vehicle is a 2013 Thor Palazzo DP with air brakes. If I read the description of the Play-IN-Stay vs the Air Force One, I believe I should've had the Air Force One system installed as it's run off the air system on the coach. The Demco authorized installer insists the Play-IN-Stay will work just fine. I'm worried about brake wear and overheating on the towed vehicle, especially going downhill and the coach using exhaust braking which I believe the towed vehicle will see as a brake being on and apply the cars brakes too much. Thank you.

I don't have the specs for either of the Demco systems .

But your signal flasher might not be strong enough for the added bulbs in the toad .
Standard signal flasher will go fast if load is over or under it's rating ( to inform driver there is a bulb issue) .

A four way emergency flasher will flash 1 bulb or a dozen at the same rate .

There has been talk in the Freightliner forums about being able to disable brake lights on while exhaust brake active.

Is your coach on a Freightliner chassis ?

Stay-IN-Play is for RVs without air brakes. Airforce One if for air brake equipped RVs.
Later...

The Stay & Play isn't "wrong", but the AF1 would have been a more optimal (and more expensive) choice by taking advantage of your coach air brake system. To be more clear, The S&P Duo can be used with any coach brake system, but the AF1 can be used only with air brakes.

S&P Duo doesn't apply braking unless the coach is decelerating (slowing) and the coach brake lights are on. Yes, some coaches activate the brake lights when the exhaust or engine brake is engaged. So if that is the source of the braking and the coach is actually slowing, then a proportional amount of braking is applied at the toad. That's no different than if you were driving the toad down a hill, right? You would lightly apply braking to hold the speed down.

Duo is not the old style told brake system with a pendulum that activates full braking on any downhill, nor is it the Progressive type system that increases toad braking the longer it remains engaged. It uses a solid state chip to measure the amount of deceleration and the braking is always proportional to the rate the coach is slowing.

So, Gary RVRoamer, What you are saying is that if I were just driving the car alone, I'd have the brakes on to say within the speed limit going downhill, just like they'd be on using the SnP duo, correct?

that depends very much the way you have the sensitivity set on the switch box.
I just sold my monaco full air coach with a full proportional braking sys and down sized to a class c. I installed a sta and play and after 1500 miles towing it's very much not the same. They work but it's not like another set of proportional brakes on the coach.
