2-5/16 Ball to fit 40,000 hitch on my Super C
Good afternoon everyone
I have been trying to find a 2 5/16 hitch to fit my coach and have had no luck online. I tried searching on this site with no luck either, just got off the phone with etrailer and they had nothing and didn't even know what I was talking about.
Does anyone know where these can be purchesed?
Thanks

What is a 40,000 hitch? I don't understand either.

I am not sure what you are looking for either. What is a 40,000 lb hitch?
There is also no such thing as a 2-5/16 hitch either. Common hitch sizes would be 1-1/4", 2", 2-1/2" and 3", of course each has a different capacity.
There are common ball sizes in 1-7/8', 2", 2-5/16" and 3".
So do you need the hitch, part that installs on your rig, ball mount (stinger) part that goes into your hitch and the ball mounts on, or just the ball?
Keep in mind that even the largest of these hitches are not going to be rated at 40,000 lbs.
Even heavy duty gooseneck and 5th wheel hitches only go up into the low 30,000 lb range If you need higher you will be looking at using a pintle or commercial 5th wheel hitch off a semi.

It is the type of hitch that the big C's have, not typical receiver type hitch. The adaptor slides down and the pin only holds the tongue weight. The adaptor can be a 2" receiver, pintal, 2 5/16, probably others also.
I probably didn't explain this very well, my apologies.

Several hits on Mr Google. Home Depot, Harbor Freight, Amazon. "But wait there is more."

Sorry for the confusion guys, I will try and find a photo that I can download. I had never seen one until I bought my coach.

A 2-5/16" ball is common and you should be able to find one at most auto supplies or Tractor Supply. My cargo trailer uses that size ball.

Did you take the time to look at the short vid I posted?
Do you think I don't know what a 2 5/16 ball is?
This is totally different, it is a whole fabrication...

I come back to my original questions.
Do you already have a receiver of some kind on the truck?
What they are showing in the video is a channel mount. Typically they are custom and welded in place. They also have many varieties that mount into standard receiver tubes.
Unless I am missing something, the highest rated 2-5/16" ball I can find is rated at 30,000 lbs.

This is one of the posts that kind of proves why a Super C specific forum is needed.
Can you call the chassis maker and see if they offer a hitch, or recommend one?

Does your Super C have the C channel mounted on it, or, perhaps if you could post a picture of what is currently on the back of your Super C, someone could offer guidance in your search.

I would contact someone like Show Hauler or Renegade. They build the super C's and will know what you need. When we looked at super C's, I noticed the hitch system and it is stout!
