I have a 2009 Winnebago View 24h with a jackknife sofa, I'm looking to change out the sofa because of the following reasons;:
1. It's very uncomfortable for sleeping especially since the seat base part slopes down, it almost feels likes you're going to fall of the bed so to remedy this I used a couple of 2x4 to prop up the seat base part but then the back part is now more sloped
2. When riding in the back on the sofa the seat is very bouncy, I think it has to do with the way the seats are made and the cushion they used.
I really want a sofa with an air mattress but don't think I have the room so looking to buy a better jackknife. Any recommendations, I've been looking at the Dakota and Belmont at shop4seats.

Have you posted this in another thread or on another board? I know I responded to this, but there is no post of mine here. Anyhow, the View-Navion board on Yahoo has several postings and pics of how they removed the bottom and back cushions, leaving only the end frames, and then installing heavy furniture grade plywood, carefully trimmed and rounded, etc, and reinforced underneath, and then installed Futon Bed cushions, making a decent couch and a good bed. On person added a flip up bottom piece that makes a wider bed, keeping a long strip cushion section stored underneath the bed when not in use.
