30 AMP service

Heading to North Dakota duck hunting next week. Will say where I will only have 30 Amp Service. We are in a 2020 Isata 5 what has 50 amp service with a residential refrigerator. Will I have a problem if I only run 1 heat pump or gas heat at night ? Are there any other electrical problems I need address.

Work on the assumption that you can only run one high draw appliance at a time - heat pump, microwave, hair dryer, water heater, etc - and you'll be fine. One high draw and other smaller draw is OK. If you go too far you'll just trip the breaker on the pedestal, so no real issue other than you have to go out and reset the breaker.

I have a 30 amp RV and can run 2 high amp items, air conditioning and microwave.

Never tripped a breaker with both running, along with the converter/charger and the fridge.

Remember the ambient temperature limitations of the heat pump ; below 40f, they don't do well , if your system won't switch automatically to furnace , you'll want to manually set the furnace on for overnight.

I use the heat pump with my unit which is 30 amps. The residential refrigerators used in these units don't use a lot of amp. However, you cannot use the heat pump with more than two other things like water heater or microwave. My experience it will trip the breaker inside or on the outside power source.
