A/C won't come on unless Auxiliary Battery switch turned on

Just bought a 2007 Fleetwood Tioga 31M Class C.

Took it out and set up at a COE park on 30amp. A/C would not turn on unless the Auxiliary Battery switch was turned on at the main panel.

A day later the A/C went off and wouldn't restart.....but, about 12 hours later I turned the Auxiliary Battery switch off then on again and the A/C started.

Also, the RV is in Texas and the temps have been at 100 with a heat index around 110.

Anyone know if this is normal or what problem(s) might be causing this?

Thank you in advance.

Your converter/charger is not working and the house battery is dieing.

The AC needs 12 volts to operate the thermostat.

When you travel, the engine is recharging your battery.

Turn on your aux battery and leave it on. That only gets switched off in storage without any shore power.

Then you may want to look for fuses near the breaker panel that are blown or a breaker marked converter. That breaker should always be on.

avfordguy, just curious.....once connected to shore power, does the Auxiliary Battery button on the main control panel have to be on in order for there to be AC power in the coach?
