….not familiar with your rig but jacks are 5' behind rear axle--that doesn't sound right? If located there--tail over hang would be a definite issue in many situations...

Adding other systems to fix a bad placement of equipment isn't the course to follow.

Find out if the placement of the jacks are correct. If I had jacks 5 feet behind my axle, they would be under my trailer hitch.

OK, you made me doubt myself so I went back out and took exact measurements. The jacks are 54" behind center axle, so 4' 6". Rear bumper is another 3' behind that. Taking a look at the underside, the jacks are just behind the fresh water tank. I think it's exactly that tail overhang that's causing the jacks to hit ground as they're lower than the skid at the very rear.

Resurrecting this thread to give it a proper send-off. Not to create a zombie or anything.

I've since discovered that the leveling jacks can easily be adjusted as they're only attached by a few bolts to a bracket that has pre-drilled holes allowing for their placement higher or lower. I was worried if I raised them by even one hole that their downstroke would be less effective.

I wanted to state that I raised them about a year ago and ever since I've not had them hit any longer as the stinger is now lower and will protect them. Also, they are perfectly fine still with the auto-leveling of the motorhome. I've also since purchased pads in the event the ground is much out of level, as well as made thick 2" jack pads for the same purpose.

Not sure my experience will apply to the OP's situation, but our rig is very tail heavy, front light, so much that the front end sat excessively high from mounds of excessive front spring rate.

I replaced the front coil sprigs to one spring-rate lower, primarily to soften the ride up front, but also to help level the rig's stance. The project was a success. One thing not sought after, it just happened on it's own. I gained some tail ground clearance.
