The 13.5k BTU roof A/C unit on my motorhome will run on a 15 amp house circuit. I use the motorhome cord and an adapter to plug into the house circuit.

A lot depends on the distance from your service panel to the motorhome as well as your voltage. The shorter the distance the better.

Preparing before a trip, I plug in to my 20amp circuit from my garage, with my #10 wire dog bone then plugged into my standard length 50amp power cord. I run my 15k A/C, lights and fridge. Lights are all LED and used when necessary. No problems. I recently purchased a 7500 running watt gene that actually has a 50amp RV plug on it! It runs the entire trailer and both A/C’s. But to big and heavey to take with us!

If you do, you will have to trip the GFI in your rig. 2 GFI's don't play nice together..
Power from my garage comes from a 20amp GFI circuit and never had a problem. Lucky so far? Must be.
